Class of 2026!

Last year, we had the joy of seeing Kevin put on his cap and gown after years of toil to earn his Bachelor of Theology (Honours) from the Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa. It was a dream deferred for about two years, but thanks to the overwhelming support of friends and ICBM, God made it a reality.

This year, we had another profound reason to celebrate: Gomolemo officially graduated with her Bachelor of Theology from the South African Theological Seminary!

This milestone came with its own unique set of challenges. During her final semester, Gomolemo was balancing her rigorous studies while caring for our toddler, Sase, and carrying our now infant, Una. By all accounts, it was a heavy season, but by God’s sustaining grace and the tireless support of family and friends over the years, she made it across the finish line

"Not To Us, O Lord..."

During the ceremony, Dr. Kevin Smith (Principal of SATS) delivered a sobering and timely address. He warned how easy it is in moments like these to revel in our own "great accomplishments." Instead, he pointed us to Psalm 115:1:

"Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to your name give glory, for the sake of your steadfast love and your faithfulness!"

These words are what we took home with us. They anchor our lives, our marriage, and our calling: Not to us!

It is the deepest prayer of our hearts that in everything we do, God alone receives the glory. Please pray with us that we remain humble and steadfast as we continue to serve His church.

Excited for What Lies Ahead

While we are grateful for the doors these qualifications may open, we are far more eager for the ways they equip us for ministry. We feel a renewed boldness to step into spaces we previously felt ill-equipped for.

Gomolemo’s Next Project: Gomo is currently working on launching a blog dedicated to exploring how all of Scripture speaks to women—so keep an eye out for that announcement soon!

We Could Not Have Done This Alone

To those who contributed so significantly to both of these milestones behind the scenes—many of whom would prefer not to be named—we owe you a debt of gratitude. We are thankful beyond words.

To the grandparents and friends who opened their homes, spent weekdays with our children, and gave up Saturdays so we could study: we truly could not have done this without you.

And to everyone who prayed, encouraged, and believed in us when we were tired and discouraged: thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

How You Can Pray With Us

God’s faithfulness continues to overwhelm us in the best way possible:

Kevin’s Studies & An Answered Prayer: Kevin was accepted into the inaugural class for the Coursework Masters at SATS. We had previously asked you to prayerfully consider helping us fund his tuition. We are thrilled to share that SATS recently announced the upcoming year will be fully covered by the seminary! God has provided in a way we could never have imagined. Please keep Kevin and the Class of 2028 in your prayers!

Gomolemo’s Next Steps: Gomo is prayerfully considering continuing her studies through Central Africa Baptist University / Seminary. Please pray for wisdom, clarity, and financial provision as she seeks to further equip herself for ministry.

Our Family & Ministry: Please continue to pray for our family, as well as our ongoing work with ICBM and Weltevreden Chapel Family Bible Church. Pray for wisdom as we discern new ways to serve the broader church.

P.S. We would love to hear from you! Reply to this email or leave a comment to let us know how we can be praying for you and your family in this season.

With love and gratitude Kevin & Gomolemo Khosa
